Our Health & Safety Policy
S&H Trading Investment (SL) Ltd is fully committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, sub-contractors, visitors, and communities associated with our operations.
We comply with all applicable Sierra Leonean health and safety legislation, international standards, and contractual requirements. Our management system follows ISO 45001:2018 principles for occupational health and safety management.
We believe that all accidents and work-related illnesses are preventable. Through continuous risk assessment, training, and behavioural safety programmes, we work toward our goal of zero harm on every project.
Every member of our team — from the CEO to the site operative — is accountable for health and safety. We empower our people to stop work if they believe conditions are unsafe, without fear of reprisal.

Our integrated HSE Management System covers all aspects of our operations, from office environments to complex construction sites. We hold regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and emergency drills to keep our teams prepared.
Our Commitments & Standards
Our occupational health and safety management system follows the internationally recognised ISO 45001:2018 standard for systematic management of OH&S risks and opportunities.
We are committed to minimising environmental impacts across all projects — through responsible waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainable construction practices.
All staff and sub-contractors undergo mandatory safety induction. Ongoing training includes first aid, fire safety, manual handling, working at heights, and hazardous materials handling.
Systematic hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures are embedded in our project planning process. RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) are mandatory for all activities.
Every S&H project site has a documented emergency response plan, trained first-aiders, accessible first-aid kits, and clear evacuation routes communicated to all site personnel.
We track, analyse, and report HSE performance monthly — monitoring leading and lagging indicators to drive continuous improvement and prevent incidents before they occur.
